If you were to ask, "Who was responsible for Pearl Harbor?" you'd most likely get the answer "Japan." But it's more complicated than that. Some people have blamed America for not being prepared for the attack, seeing as the attack was coming from 4000 miles away. But that's been brushed off by people who say Japan hadn't attracted any attention by flying in the dead of night. It's been a real controversy - it's never been a simple case of "Japan bombed America." People have placed the blame of US's shoulders, for not being prepared for something like this. Which I suppose they should've been. But that doesn't mean the Japanese got off easy. They bombed America. And they got what they deserved.
Besides the fact that American security became more advanced after the attack, the rights of the United States and Japan were not greatly affected. However, the entire war was changed completely. The attack brought the US into the war, and all of our citizens did everything in their power to help the war effort. Children collected various materials needed for the war. New cars were not made for a long time. Rumors of bombings in other countries were constantly being spread. Regulations for traveling were much more strict. Our country was not the same after these horrifying attacks.
